The last time my friends and I went camping I took almost all my camping cookware with me and as some of them began to unpack their camping gear and others decided to very quickly begin to participate in the good old fun of woods flag football, I decided to start making a beef stew that I knew would make everyone come to a screeching halt the moment the aroma of the stew began to make love to their sense of smell. While making my mean stew, my buddies were having so much fun playing woods football that I think the owls and deer started doing a line just to pay the cover charge to watch a our little football game. The game was actually getting pretty good, since the girls and boys had decided that the winners would be in charge of making breakfast for the other the next morning and the game was tied with three minutes left—since I was on camping cookware watch I was the time keeper. The last two minutes of the game were absolutely hilarious with both the men and women breaking all kinds of rules just hoping to get out from having to cook some breakfast, but in the end the guys were no match for the ladies and were stuck with breakfast duty. After the game, we all got together and I have to say that I almost received a standing ovation for my part as stew maker—it was delicious.
