Quality deer management, (QDM), is all the buzz these day's among deer hunting sportsmen. Begun in the mid 1980's by biologists and scientists who are also avid deer hunting fanatics, QDM set forth the goal of providing highly nutritious food sources such as a specially developed clover that deer find irresistible. This high protein clover, over 30% when properly planted in high ph level soil, promotes excellent overall nutritional needs for deer allowing the local deer population to reach higher reproductive levels and the bucks grow larger antlers. Combined with specially formulated vitamins for the four seasons of the year when deer need more of certain vitamins this deer management plan has be so successful hundreds of thousands of deer hunting land owners are planting the clover and putting out the different vitamins. The results have been nothing less than amazing. The deer hunting has improved in areas of the country where, before the QDM plan was introduced, a hunter was lucky to see a trophy Whitetail buck, let alone harvest one. Simply put all this care for the deer has produced larger, healthier does, fawns, and bucks with larger antlers.
